San Jose Sharks re-sign forwards Patrick Marleau and Joe Pavelski

The San Jose Sharks have re-signed forwards Patrick Marleau and Joe Pavelski.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose Sharks have re-signed forwards Patrick Marleau and Joe Pavelski.

Marleau was due to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 while Pavelski was a restricted free agent.

Both deals are for four years with Marleau’s worth US$27.6 million and Pavelski’s worth $16 million.

The 30-year-old Marleau has spent his entire 12-season career in San Jose.

In 953 games, he has 320 goals and 373 assists. He had a career-high 44 goals last season.

Pavelski, 25, recorded 25 goals and 51 points in 67 games last season.

Both players participated in the Vancouver Olympics with Marleau’s Team Canada defeating the Pavelski’s Americans in the gold-medal final.
