Skinner slips at Seniors, Kuehn makes cut to Royale Cup

PORT BLANCHFORD, N.L. — Tom Skinner of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club slipped a bit in the standings following the second day of the Canadian senior men’s championship Wednesday.

Skinner shot a second-round 7-over par 78 on the Twin Rivers layout for a 152 total and in a tie for 13th, 15 strokes back of leader Chip Lutz (67-70) of Reading, Pa.

Peter Sereda of the RDGCC had an 85 Wednesday to go with an opening round 89 and missed the cut with a 32-over par total.

Frank Van Dornick of Camrose posted his second straight 73 and is in a tie for fifth at 146.

Paul Simon of Raleigh, N.C., is second at 68-71—139.

• WHITEVALE, Ont. — Lynn Kuehn of Lacombe easily made the cut in the Royale Cup Canadian women’s senior championship.

Kuehn, who shot an 85 Tuesday, came in with an 8-over par 80 Wednesday for a 165 total and in a tie for 19th.

Terrill Samuel of Etobicoke, Ont., shot a 75 for a 153 total, one stroke up on Mary Ann Hayward of Aurora, Ont., who posted her second straight 77.
