Solid provincial showing for Murray, Gigiluk

Russel Murray and Kent Gigliuk were the top Red Deer bowlers in the Youth Challenge provincials at Heritage Lanes during the weekend.

Russel Murray and Kent Gigliuk were the top Red Deer bowlers in the Youth Challenge provincials at Heritage Lanes during the weekend.

Murray and Gigliuk finished sixth and seventh in the boys competition with respective average scores of 241 and 240. Neither qualified for the provincial team, which is comprised of bowlers from Calgary and Edmonton.

In the team competition, contingents from Calgary were victorious in all three categories — girls, boys and mixed.

The provincial girls team is made up of bowlers from Edmonton, Calgary and Wetaskiwin (Emily McMurrer).
