Grizzlys fall to Pontiacs
BONNYVILLE — The Olds Grizzlys surrendered the first four goals of the game and fell 6-4 to the Bonnyville Pontiacs in Alberta Junior Hockey League action Friday.
Scoring for the Grizzlys were Brett Printz, Taylor Bourne, Chad Berglund and Jordan Kancsal. Devon Kalinski fired three goals for the Pontiacs, who got singles from Ryan Kearns, Kevin Carthy and Ty Carey.
Connor Creech turned aside 22 shots for the winners. Olds netminder Brayden Hopfe made 24 saves.
The Grizzlys are in Sherwood Park tonight to take on the Crusaders.
KidSport informtion night
KidSport Alberta will present information about the organization and opportunities to get involved with the Red Deer chapter on Tuesday from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Capri Hotel and Conference Centre.
KidSport is a national non-profit organization that helps children from low-income families get into organized sport.
KidSport Red Deer was established in 1996 and is one of more than 180 community-based volunteer driven chapters operating across Canada. Each local chapter raises funds in their community to help local children participate in the organized sport program of their choice.
Anyone with an interest in making sure sport is accessible for all children and youth in Red Deer is encouraged to attend the information session in boardroom No. 2.
