Sylvan Lake Triathlon is adding a pair of new events.
The Aug. 4 race is introducing the Age Group Mixed Relay. The team event for both male and female athletes includes a a 300-metre swim, eight-km bike ride and two-km run.
Also new this year is a Family Fun Mixed Relay, which brings together teams of two adults and two children aged five to 12.
The race includes a 50-metre swim, 800-metre bike ride and one-km run.
Also planned this year is a Sprint Triathlon for individuals and teams featuring a 750-metre swim, 26.6-km bike ride and five-km run.
A Sprint Duathlon is comprised of a five-km run, 26.6-km bike ride and ending with another five-km run.
The AquaBike event sees athletes tackle a 750-metre swim and 26.6-km bike ride.
The standard triathlon for individuals and teams includes a 1.5-km swim, 49-km bike ride and 10-km run.
The duathlon features a 10-km run, 40-km bike ride and 10-km run.
AquaBike has a 1.5-km swim and 40-km bike ride.
