The Sylvan Lake Wranglers managed to get the job done, albeit in a much different fashion.

After overcoming two-goal deficits in the third period and winning in overtime in both games 1 and 2 of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League North Division semi-final, the Wranglers showed their defensive prowess in Game 3.

Sylvan Lake scored once in the first period, on a goal from Austin Kalev and that was all the help goalie Cameron Loomis-Labrosse needed in the 2-0, 34-save shutout.

Caileb Berge also added a goal for the Wranglers in the third period at the Servus Arena Wednesday.

Cannon Whitbread didn’t give up much for the home side in the loss, allowing just two goals on 25 shots. In the opening two games of the series, the two teams combined for 22 goals.

Sylvan Lake will have a chance to clinch the best-of-seven series on home ice, Thursday night at 8 p.m.
