Over 160 golfers participated in three Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) events at Olds Central Highlands Golf Club.

From June 25-27, the youth learned to play the sport in the Cam Clark Ford Olds Go Golf Junior Clinic. In addition, golfers under-12 competed in the one-day MJT Mini Tour and under-19 golfers played in the two-day MJT Ford Series.

In the U12 event, the MJT saw their most significant field of the season on the MJT Alberta Mini Tour.

In the girls aged 9-10 division Sylvan Lake’s Ain Lee, 9, took home the title by shooting 40 and 49 through two days.

“It feels really nice and I feel proud of myself,” said Lee in a media release. “I get frustrated when I hit a bad shot but I turned it into positive thoughts.”

Since Lee was the division’s top finisher she qualified for the season-ending MJT Mini Tour National Championship in Tsawwassen, B.C. in August.

The next MJT Mini Tour event will be in Calgary at Golfuture YYC on July 6.
