Teron finishes fifth at Canada Cup qualifier

Jesse Teron of Red Deer finished fifth in the boys’ 15-19 year-old division and fifth overall in the 36-hole Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Big Chief Jerky Alberta Junior Canada Cup qualifier Monday.

CARSTAIRS — Jesse Teron of Red Deer finished fifth in the boys’ 15-19 year-old division and fifth overall in the 36-hole Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Big Chief Jerky Alberta Junior Canada Cup qualifier Monday.

Teron had rounds of 71-72 for a one-under par 143, six strokes back of Riley Fleming of Airdrie (67-70).

Matt Codd of Red Deer was eighth at 74-72—146 with Kolby Vold of Ponoka tied for 31st at 81-82—163. Julien Boothby of Red Deer was 44th at 93-95—188.

Meanwhile in the boys’ 14-and-under division, Michael Pruss of Red Deer finished second with an 82-74—146, four strokes back of Nolan Mastel of Medicine Hat (77-73).

Allan Pruss was 11th at 86-85—171.
