Thunder Country club takes 20 medals at own invitational meet

The Red Deer Thunder Country Trampoline and Gymnastics Club captured 20 medals in their own invitational meet at during the weekend.

LACOMBE — The Red Deer Thunder Country Trampoline and Gymnastics Club captured 20 medals in their own invitational meet at during the weekend.

Amanda Martin, Kalena Soehn and Caiden Cline all came home with two gold medals, winning both the trampoline and double-mini trampoline (DMT) in their respective categories.

Martin competed in the national youth women’s division with Soehn in the national novice 11-14 year-old women’s category and Cline in the national novice 11-14 year-old men’s division.

Kyle Soehn won the national senior men’s DMT title and was second to Keegan Soehn on the trampoline. Keegan was second to Kyle in DMT while the brothers hooked up to win the synchronized trampoline title.

Zachary Blakely won the provincial A men’s DMT and was fourth on the trampoline and teamed with Pierson Kooman to take silver in synchronized trampoline.

Kooman was sixth on the trampoline and seventh in DMT.

Samuel Peters won bronze in both categories in the provincial B men’s division and brought home silver in the synchronized trampoline along with Evan Burton, who was sixth in both individual events.

Jordan Smith placed second in the provincial C women’s trampoline to go with a fifth in DMT and won gold in synchronized trampoline along with Laura Arnusch, who also placed sixth in both individual events.

Calvin Burton and Darren Wright hooked up to take second in the provincial C men’s synchronized trampoline while Lauren Howse and Alexis Wall were third in the provincial C women’s synchronized trampoline.

Burton was seventh on the trampoline and sixth in DMT while Wight took fourth and fifth respectively.

Howse was fifth on the trampoline and 10th in DMT with Wall 11th in both events.

Michaela Marchuk was sixth in DMT and 11th on the trampoline in the provincial B women’s category while Evan Koster took fourth in DMT and sixth on the trampoline in the provincial C men’s division.

Bandalynn Muhlbeier was ninth on the trampoline and 11th in DMT in the provincial A women’s section while Thalia Chavarria took sixth in both events in provincial C women.
