Wade Moore’s second try of the afternoon and ensuing convert lifted the host Red Deer Titans to a 22-19 win over the Edmonton Lep-Tigers in men’s first division rugby action Saturday.

Moore’s first try staked the Titans to an early lead, but the visitors struck for 19 unanswered points before James Williams replied for the Titans with a try at the 37-minute mark.

The Titans applied heavy pressure in the second half and the heat finally paid off with Moore, following a set-up run by Williams on the far side of the pitch, scored the tying- and go-ahead points. The Red Deer squad improved to 3-3 with the positive result.

Earlier in the day, the third division Titans fell 33-8 to the Okotoks Lions and the Titans women crushed Banff 72-5. The Titans host the Calgary Rams Friday at 7 p.m.

Derek Lockhart scored a try and a penalty to stake the Titans III to an 8-0 lead, but the home side was blanked the rest of the way. The Titans fell to 2-3-1 with the setback.
