Basketball players named athletes of the week at RDC
Two basketball players are Red Deer College’s athletes of the week.
Emily White, a Queens basketball player, helped her team to a pair of wins over a tough weekend against Medicine Hat College Rattlers.
The rattlers are ranked fifth in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.
On Friday, the third year student contributed 15 points, two assists, and a remarkable 13 rebounds, as she helped the Queens defeat the Rattlers, 61-37.
In Saturday’s 55-52 victory, the Management Certificate student accumulated 13 points, one block, one steal, and seven rebounds.
White played a big role in helping the Queens earn four out of a possible four points in the standings this past weekend, and she was named the player-of-the-game in both home games.
Omon Edobar, a Kings basketball player, was named the player of the game in both home games over the weekend against Medicine Hat College Rattlers.
Despite dropping Friday’s game 88-83, the first-year student-athlete recorded 24 points, one steal, three assists and three rebounds. In the Kings’ 83-82 win Saturday, the 6-foot-3 guard added 23 points, two steals, two assists, and one rebound.
