Two Red Deer Rebels selected to compete in World U17 Hockey Challenge

Both will play on separate teams

A pair of Red Deer Rebels will be on their way to Langley and Delta, B.C. after being selected to play in the 2022 World U17 Hockey Challenge in November.

From Nov. 3-12 forward Ollie Josephson and goalie Chase Wutzke will play for Team Canada in the showcase. Josephson will be on Canada White and Wutzke will be on Canada Red.

Josephson has one goal and two assists in seven games this season with the Rebels and was selected by the franchise fifth overall in the first round of the 2021Western Hockey League Prospects Draft.

Wutzke was reassigned to the Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA of the SMAAAHL before the start of the Rebels’ season. He has appeared in five games for the Contacts this season posting a 3.43 goals against average and a .887 save percentage. He played three games with the Rebels last season where he had a 4.70 GAA and a .849 save percentage.

Wutzke was picked by the Rebels 40th overall in round two of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Also joining Wutzke on Canada Red is Brandon Wheat Kings forward Caleb Hadland from Sylvan Lake.
