U-14 girls still rolling along

Red Deer United earned a single point in a pair of Edmonton Minor Soccer Association weekend contests, falling 4-1 to the defending provincial Tier 1 champion West Raiders and pulling out a 2-2 tie with the Xtreme.

U18 Tier 2 Girls

Red Deer United earned a single point in a pair of Edmonton Minor Soccer Association weekend contests, falling 4-1 to the defending provincial Tier 1 champion West Raiders and pulling out a 2-2 tie with the Xtreme.

Rachel Gaudry’s penalty-kick tally was the first league goal scored against the Raiders in four years.

After a mere two-hour break, the Red Deer squad got goals from Gaudry and Claire Wallace in the tie with the Xtreme. Gaudry’s second goal of the day again came on a penalty kick.

U16 Tier 2 Boys

The Red Deer Renegades split a pair of weekend contests, dropping a 5-3 decision to Edmonton SW United and downing Sherwood Park Phoenix 4-1.

Nicu Ruicea, Colton Alexander and Cale Jacobs scored in the Renegades setback, and Ruicea, Alexander, Jacobs and Rushton Davis-Hall were the marksmen in Red Deer’s victory.

U14 Tier 2 Girls

The defending indoor champion Red Deer Renegades ran their outdoor season record to 4-0 with a 2-0 win over the Edmonton KC Trojans Saturday.

Laryssa Ubels opened the scoring for the Renegades in the first half with a strike from five-mteres out. Sydney Daines connected with the insurance marker seven minutes into the second half when she took a pass from Alisha Coules just outside the penalty area and picked the top corner.

The Renedages next action is June 14th in Edmonton against the 2 -1 SW United.
