U11 Red Deer Renegades compete in goalkeeper wars

Each player claimed first place

The Red Deer Renegades U11 boys soccer team had plenty to cheer about once again.

A week after winning the gold medal in Edmonton the boys saw further success at the Airdrie Summit Cup over the weekend.

As part of the tournament there was a goalkeeper wars competition where both U10 and U11 goalies competed to see which stood out from the rest.

In the goalkeeper wars each goalie competed to see who could make the most saves while simultaneously trying to score on their opponents net.

Red Deer Renegades U11 goalkeeper Mateo Diz stood on his head winning all 10 matches to claim first place over 15 other goalkeepers.

Owen Settle, who plays midfielder for the U11 boys won nine out of his 10 matches. His matchup in the finals was against hte same player he he lost to previously but this time he got the upper hand to come out victorious.
