U15 Titans take two of three girls matches

Rebecca Tedrick, Ann Marie Peturson, Amber Bergquist and Jordan Grant each scored a try and Emma Newton added four conversions in a 28-0 win over Medicine Hat II, and Bryna Cline and Monika Stepanik each had a try in a 10-5 victory over Medicine Hat I.

Grant recorded the Titans’ lone try and Newton contributed a conversion in a 15-7 loss to Okotoks. The U-15 girls train at Titans Park Mondays and Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. and will host teams from Calgary, Okotoks and Edmonton Sunday starting at 11 a.m.

In under-14 boys’ play, the Titans combined with the Edmonton Druids and lost 15-10 and 15-5 to the Edmonton Nor’Westers and Clansmen. Gaige Rehn of the Titans was selected as a man of the match.

The under-14 Titans train Mondays and Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at Titans Park, and like the under-15 girls, are looking for players.

In under-12 boys weekend action, the Titans defeated St. Albert and dropped 15-10 and 20-15 decisions to the Edmonton Clansmen. Johannes Smith scored five tries for Red Deer over the three games.

l The Titans Rugby Club has announced that all girls and boys ages 15 to 17 are eligible to try out for the Zone 4 Alberta Summer Games teams.

The Titans are hoping to register 24 girls and 24 boys by June 16. The first registration and tryouts are set for Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at Titans Park. The Titans are registering two teams for both boys’ and girls’.

The 2010 Alberta Summer Games are July 19-22 in the Peace Country.
