The Red Deer Rage U17A fastball team had a season to remember this summer.

Not only did the Rage win a Girls Prairie League Softball title in July, they also snagged a victory at provincials in Calgary.

The win in Calgary meant a direct trip to the Western Canadian Softball Championships in St. Albert earlier this month.

Red Deer went 4-2 in round robin play and needed to win a tiebreaker game to advance, which they did. They lost in the bronze medal game to the River City Hornets from Edmonton.

The roster included: Ava Burghardt, Avery Terpsma, Briley Christensen, Brooke Zinken, Dani Lajeunesse, Julia Cunningham, Kail Lefsrud, Katie Blair, Kiya Anderson, Madi Hunter, Peyton Smalley, Sarah Wilkins and Sloan Scotvold.

Coaches were Jeff Zinken, Teri Hunter, Chad Scotvold, Marsha Smalley and the team was managed by Tracy Burghardt.
