UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Red Deer’s Arash Usmanee ran his professional boxing record to 5-0 with two knockouts with a unanimous decision over Jorge Ruiz (7-11-2) Friday.
The six-round bout was called in the fifth round when Ruiz ran into an errant elbow.
“I took my time and started to get to him in the third and fourth rounds,” said Usmanee.
Since the bout was called, commission rules states the fight go to the scorecards. Usmanee won by scores of 50-45, 49-45, and 48-47.
