The Red Deer U16 B Velocity fell just short of taking top honours in a weekend ringette tournament at Sherwood Park, losing 7-2 to the Saskatoon Force in the gold-medal game.
After beating the Sherwood Park Envy and the Saskatoon Panthers in round-robin play, the Velocity doubled the Envy 4-2 in a semifinal.
l Elsewhere, the U12 B Red Deer Ringette Investor’s Group Riot took home the silver medal at the Brass Ring Tournament in Beaumont this weekend.
