Vipers earn second straight HJHL North Division title

Cole Sears earns 5-0 shutout win in Game 6 for Vipers

The Red Deer Vipers are the Heritage Junior B Hockey League North Division champions for the second straight season.

Red Deer topped the Airdrie Thunder 5-0 on the road in Game 6 to win the best-of-seven series Friday night.

Cole Sears picked up the shutout in the Vipers net.

Mack Differenz scored in the opening frame, Aidan Wilson notched back-to-back goals in the second to power the Vipers to victory. Logan Linnell and Jacksyn Goodall also added goals in the win.

The Vipers will play the Coaldale Copperheads in the HJHL Final starting next week.

Both teams will head to Fort St. John, B.C. for the Hockey Alberta Junior B provincials later this month.
