It will be a stiff test to start the 2019-20 WHL regular season for the Red Deer Rebels.
Red Deer will welcome the defending Central Division champion and rival Edmonton Oil Kings to the Centrium on Sept. 21 to kick start the new campaign. The teams will play a home-and-home on the opening weekend, with the Rebels traveling to Edmonton for a matinee on Sept. 22 at Rogers Place.
The league released the full slate of 2019-20 WHL regular season games on Wednesday.
Red Deer will play six straight road games from Nov. 1-9, as the Canadian Finals Rodeo take over the Centrium.
The longest homestand of the year is Feb. 28 to March 7, when the Rebels play five straight contests at home.
In October, they will play six of nine games at home, including a four-game stand from Oct. 18-22.
Rebels have only one monday game on the schedule, a B.C. Family Day contest on Feb. 17 in Prince George against the Cougars at 3 p.m.
Red Deer will also end the regular season on March 21 against the Oil Kings.
The preseason will start on Sept. 3 against the Oil Kings in Edmonton, with Red Deer hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sept. 6 at the Centrium.
