Closing in on its 20th anniversary race, Woody’s Triathlon organizers have made the decision to cancel its June race.

The event, which typically features a kid’s race on Saturday and a junior an adult triathlon on Sunday, was originally scheduled for June 20 and 21.

In 2019, close to 500 racers took to the course last year for the race between Saturday and Sunday.

Race director Shaun Richer said last year, for the 20th anniversary that was set for this June, they were planning on making it a “heck of a party”.

Athletes who were already signed up for the races will see their entry fee rollover to 2021 or be refunded.

More to come.
