MEDICINE HAT — Two people charged after more than 100 cats were rescued from three sheds in southern Alberta will learn next week when they are going to trial.

About a year ago, bylaw officials in Medicine Hat said they removed the felines from the sheds.

After a two-month investigation, charges were laid under the Animal Protection Act.

Lisa Patrick and Malcolm Zora are accused of failure to provide proper medical care and shelter.

Their lawyer entered not guilty pleas to all the charges in court Thursday.

The case will be back in court Dec. 9 to set a trial date.
