AA Elks tie Okotoks

Landon Hiebert recorded a hat trick for the Elks, whose other goal was provided by Justin Moltzahn. Brenden Mandrusiak stopped 27 shots for the Red Deer squad.

Bantam

The Red Deer Service Plus Chiefs gained three of four points in weekend AA action, edging Okotoks 3-2 and gaining a 4-4 draw with the Red Deer Steel Kings.

Bryce Lightbown, Carter Sawicki and Gabe Bast scored in the Chiefs win, while goaltender Joey Desrosiers made 18 saves.

Cole Visser potted two goals against the Steel Kings, with Bast and Teagan Colonna also scoring. Chris Gerrie, Dallas Link, Trey DeGraff and Chandler Knibb answered for the Steel Kings.

Desrosiers stopped 21 shots for Service Plus and Brody Thomas turned aside 17 at the other end.

Meanwhile, the Steel Kings fell 6-2 to Okotoks, their goals coming off the sticks of Gerrie and Knibb. Jayden Sittler stopped 40 shots in a losing cause.

•In A league play the Red Deer Frontier Chiefs beat Hobbema 8-5 and lost 3-2 to Rocky Mountain House. Mathew Krusky and Jake Bottomley scored twice each against Hobbema with singles added by Tyler Chavez-Leach, Colton Levie, Brandon Magill and Brandon Way. Levie and Chavez-Leach scored against Rocky.

Bantam Girls

The Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs ran their record to 5-0 with a 4-0 wins over the Calgary Rangers and Rocky Mountain House Raiders.

Reanna Arnold had a pair of goals against Calgary, while Taylor Hall and Jessyka Holt added singles and Jenn West stopped 23 shots for the shutout. Hall, Holt, Arnold and Blyss Gellert connected in the Cochrane game, while Megan Kirkland faced 17 shots. The Chiefs have outscored their opponents 25-1 in five games.

Peewee

The Red Deer Veras-Line Chiefs split a pair of A contests, falling 3-2 to Kneehill and beating Innisfail 7-4.

Brady Park and Josh Brussard scored in the loss at Three Hills, where Kneehill got two goals from Ryley Smith and one from Tyler Ratzlaff.

Josh Ho and Kirt Fortney each had a pair of goals in the Chiefs’ win ,with singles coming from Park, Bussard and Tyler Wall. Scoring for Innisfail were Ryan Shuckburgh, Kelsey Katchuik, Josh Gette and Quinn Layden.

Atom

Hunter Leslie scored twice to lead the Red Deer KFC Chiefs to a 4-2 win over the host Innisfail Flyers in AA action. Devon Fankhanel and Eric Moore also tallied for the Chiefs, who got an 18-save performance from Justin Travis.

•In A action, Jared Lower erupted for seven goals for Red Deer Phone Experts in an 11-10 victory over Rimbey. Liam Stalwick notched the other four goals for the winners, who dressed only eight players as a result of a flu outbreak.
