ACCA annual meeting coming

The Alberta Community and Co-operative Association is hosting its annual general meeting and an open house April 26.

The Alberta Community and Co-operative Association is hosting its annual general meeting and an open house April 26.

Members of the general public interested in co-ops are also invited to attend the event at the Holiday Inn on 67th Street in Red Deer.

Celebrating the year 2012, the UN-declared International Year of Co-operatives, the open house will also highlight community development.

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Unleashing Local Capital Project, a new $1.2-million program that will empower Albertans to invest locally.

The ACCA annual co-op leadership awards will also be presented to three individuals during the event. The AGM starts at 9 a.m., followed by the open house at 10:30 a.m. The event wraps up around 4:30 p.m.

Registration for the AGM, open house and a luncheon is $55 per person. Registration for just the AGM is $30. To register for the event, visit http://acca.coop/open-house-and-co-operative-leadership-awards-luncheon.
