An annual conference that highlights developments in crop production is coming to Red Deer.

Agronomy Update 2012 will take place Jan. 17 and 18 at the Capri Centre.

Agriculture scientists will share their expertise on soil and crop issues, with topics to include plastic bagging for temporary grain storage, the latest research on soil variability and variable rate fertilizer technology, crop disease concerns, herbicide resistance, insect and weed survey updates, integrated pest management, new pesticide products and new technologies.

Sponsored by Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, the Agronomy Update was previously held in Stettler. It’s intended for grain producers, crop advisers and industry representatives.
