EDMONTON — A provincial agency says Alberta needs to upgrade its clean air rules to take into account the province’s growth.

The Clean Air Strategic Alliance is made up of business, government and environmental representatives.

It says regulations need to consider other sources of pollution besides industry.

It points to urban development, transportation and agriculture as significant contributors.

The group’s recommendations represent a consensus between 26 different government departments, businesses, environmental and health organizations.
