EDMONTON — Alberta will mark the upcoming royal wedding by making a $25,000 donation to youth shelters in the province.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are to be wed on April 29.

Premier Ed Stelmach says the gift on behalf of Albertans reflects the concern of the couple for young people.

The couple are to tour parts of Alberta this summer.

The donated money will go to programs in Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Fort McMurray and Edmonton.
