EDMONTON — Alberta Liberals are launching an toll-free telephone line for doctors and patients who have stories about bullying in the health-care system.
Liberal Leader David Swann says he hopes the move will increase pressure on the government to call a public inquiry.
A growing number of doctors and nurses have come forward to complain that they were bullied after speaking out about their concerns.
Swann says the Liberals will investigate any complaints called in to them and table some of them in the legislature.
Alberta’s opposition parties all want a public inquiry because they feel a government-ordered review by the Health Quality Council doesn’t have enough power.
