BRETON — One of two Red Deer RCMP officers injured in a shootout has been released from hospital.
Mounties say a second officer remains in hospital, although his injuries are not life-threatening.
Both are members of an emergency response team that was called to a home Saturday near Breton, southwest of Edmonton, following a report that a man had been shot.
A man and woman were taken into custody after a lengthy standoff.
Police say the woman has been released from hospital and remains in custody, but the man is still being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers are still investigating at the scene and charges are pending.
