EDMONTON — Alberta Premier Alison Redford says her government has an image problem of entitlement that its plan to change one doorstep at a time in the upcoming provincial election.
Speaking on a radio show, she reminded voters they have the power to hold any legislative members accountable who won’t pay back the money they were paid for serving on a committee that never meets.
Redford is expected to call an election within two weeks to send voters to the polls in late April.
Her Progressive Conservatives have been pounded in recent days by scandals involving committee pay and allegations of influence peddling by Asia envoy Gary Mar.
Redford says in the last two years the Tories have struggled with an image of entitlement.
The opposition Wildrose Party has gained ground on the Tories in recent polls with a campaign that urges voters to turf a government that has lost its moral compass after 40 years in power.
