CALGARY — Two men have been charged after RCMP in southern Alberta seized 68 kilograms of magic mushrooms during a traffic stop.
Police say an officer found the stash with the help of a drug detection dog.
The Mountie had stopped a pickup truck on Highway 1 west of Lake Louise for an equipment violation.
Twenty-seven-year-old Shawn Lutz and thirty-one-year-old Scott Gowing —- both of Calgary — face possession and trafficking charges.
They are scheduled to appear in court in Banff, Alta., on Nov. 16.
Magic mushrooms, formally known as psilocybin, are a hallucinogenic which acts on the central nervous system.
