LETHBRIDGE — A southern Alberta teenager has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of his mother.

A lawyer for the 17-year-old Fort MacLeod youth entered the plea in Lethbridge youth court.

The teen, who is being held at the Calgary Remand Centre, appeared via closed-circuit television.

He has been remanded in custody for a 60-day medical and psychological assessment at Alberta Hospital near Edmonton and is due back in court Dec. 9.
