The Central Alberta Amazons dropped their first game of the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League regular season Saturday, losing 5-0 to the Fort Saskatchewan Fury on the road.

The Amazons have an 8-1 record and lead the South Division by two points over the 7-1 Lethbridge Jr. Eagles. The Fury are 6-2 and lead the North Division.

The Amazons are led by the solid goaltending of Jessica Amendt and Nora Drechsler, who have combined for five shutouts.

Amendt has a 5-0 record and has allowed only two goals with a 0.36 goals-against-average. Drechsler is 3-1 with a 2.36 GAA.

The defending league champion Amazons next game is Saturday against the Calgary Titans at 6:45 p.m. at the Triwood Arena in Calgary. Their next home game is Nov. 26 against Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. in Penhold.
