Last month, I visited Red Deer to visit family, rekindle old friendships and to repair and restore the damaged heron sculpture on Spruce Drive.Pat Matheson (public art co-ordinator) had saved the broken part.

I must truly thank Don O’Neill for sparing time in his busy schedule to lend a helping hand. Without his expert carpentry skills and loan of tools I could not have finished the job in hand quickly.

I am glad the sculpture is complete again and no longer an eyesore.

When I come to Red Deer for visit, I know I am among kindred spirits.
