Anderson scores well at Carstairs

Scott Anderson of Red Deer River Bend shot a second-round 68 Wednesday and finished 13 strokes behind winner Jamie Kureluk of GolfTEC Calgary in a Professional Golfers’ Association of Alberta tour event at Carstairs.

Anderson opened with a 76, and with a 144 total he pocketed a cheque for $790. Kureluk (67-64—131) won $2,500.

Meanwhile, Troy Butterfield of Stettler Pheasantback earned $336 after finishing with a 36-hole total of 148 (73-75) and Roy Hide of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club (76-73) and Ryan Moore of Ponoka (73-76) each finished at 149 and out of the money.
