RCMP say a man was shot and wounded when four officers responded to a report of gunshots from a northern Alberta home.

CONKLIN — RCMP say a man was shot and wounded when four officers responded to a report of gunshots from a northern Alberta home.

Mounties say they seized a 30-30 lever action rifle at the house in Conklin, Alta., and took three other people into custody for questioning.

One of them was treated for minor injuries after being stunned with a Taser by police to restrain him.

Police say the received a call Sunday night about shots coming from the house in Conklin, about 170 kilometres south of Fort McMurray.

They say they were confronted by an armed man when they arrived at the home and shot him.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The shooting is being investigated by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, an independent body that reviews injuries or deaths in which police are involved.
