An armed robbery suspect is being sought by Sylvan Lake RCMP after a local convenience store was held up by a man with a handgun.

An armed robbery suspect is being sought by Sylvan Lake RCMP after a local convenience store was held up by a man with a handgun.

On Friday, just after 10 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery at the Bayshore Market in Chateau Suites on the lakeshore. A lone suspect had entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanding cash from the clerk.

He later fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.

A police service dog was used to try to track the suspect, but was unable to locate him.

RCMP are seeking a clean-shaven male, between 16 and 21 years old. He is about five-foot-eight inches tall and 160 lbs. He was wearing a black puffy winter coat, blue jeans, running shoes, and a black toque with some grey on it.
