An Australian band that straddles virtually all musical genres performs on Saturday in Red Deer.
The Mason Rack Band will play a mix of blues, jazz and roots music, complemented by country punk, alternative rock, funk and reggae at The Vat.
The un-catagorizable Queensland band is in the midst of a Canadian CD release tour. The group’s new album, Limits of Grip, is described as being “a spectacular kaleidoscope of musical genres.”
It includes the song A Hard Goodbye, which recounts lead singer Mason Rack’s days of drinking and doing drugs.
“It was a difficult time and this song is a tribute to now being sober for 12 years,” Rack has stated.
