B.C. woman struck by train in Alberta dies from her injuries

A woman from British Columbia has died from her injuries after being struck by a westbound CN Rail train west of Edmonton.

SPRUCE GROVE, Alta. — A woman from British Columbia has died from her injuries after being struck by a westbound CN Rail train west of Edmonton.

RCMP have not released the woman’s name or hometown.

They say the 27-year-old woman was struck on a set of tracks that run through the community of Spruce Grove, Alta., on Thursday.

Police say the woman was not at a rail crossing when she was struck.

The woman was airlifted to hospital in Edmonton in critical condition but later died.

RCMP and CN Rail police are investigating.
