Beef producers invited to attend fall meetings

Beef producers across the province will have the opportunity over the next few weeks to discuss industry issues with their counterparts, elect representatives and in some cases enjoy a free supper.

Beef producers across the province will have the opportunity over the next few weeks to discuss industry issues with their counterparts, elect representatives and in some cases enjoy a free supper.

The Alberta Beef Producers’ 2011 fall producer meetings and elections will run from Oct. 25 to Nov. 3, with several gatherings slated for Central Alberta.

In Zone 3, a meeting will be held on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Sundre Seniors Centre. Alberta Beef Producers chair Chuck MacLean will be in attendance.

In Zone 5, meetings are scheduled for Oct. 25 at the Spruce View Community Hall, Oct. 26 at the Big Valley Community Hall and Nov. 2 at the Leslieville Community Hall. All will start at 7 p.m., with a supper served at 6.

In Zone 6, a meeting will take place on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Ponoka Legion, with a supper planned for 6. Ryder Lee, the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association’s manager of federal and provincial relations is expected to take part.
