Best July home sales on record

It was the best July on record for home sales in Central Alberta, rising 12 per cent higher than the same month in 2013. Home sales in all of Alberta paled in comparison, rising only five per cent over the same month last year ago.

The Central Alberta Realtors Association reports that there were 582 housing units sold through MLS last month, the fifth highest of any month in history.

The dollar value of homes sales in July 2014 was also 11 per cent higher than a year earlier, another record. The total value of property sales in Alberta for the same month rose only 13 per cent.

Central Alberta Realtors Association is an MLS listing co-operative that represents 560 realtors in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
