A contemporary U.S. Christian band known for the songs Everytime I Breathe and Audience of One is coming to Red Deer.

Big Daddy Weave hails from North Carolina and Texas, and will perform Friday at the CrossRoads Church in Red Deer County.

Made up of Mike Weaver, Jay Weaver, Jeremy Redmon, Jeff Jones, and Joe Shirk, the band was honoured in 2003 and 2004 at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Christian Music Awards.

Big Daddy Weave, which is touring this spring from Thunder Bay, Ont. to Victoria, also received a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year in 2002. The group is also known for the songs In Christ, Fields of Grace and Without You.

Members say they tried to communicate “the word placed on their hearts,” to the hearts of those who hear their latest album, What Life Would Be Like.

Big Daddy Weave performs with Building 429 and special guest Andy Kirk at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Tickets are $10 in advance from the church or $20 at the door.
