Biker takes short but uneasy ride

COCHRANE — An Alberta biker who took a short unexpected ride on the back of a semi is in hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP say the Calgary man and the big rig were eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway west of the city last evening when the motorcycle collided with the back of the truck.

The impact flipped the 37-year-old rider onto the rear fender of the semi.

He lay there for about half a kilometre before a motorist alerted the truck driver that he was carrying some extra cargo.

The biker, whose name has not been released, was taken to hospital in Calgary

His injuries are considered potentially life-threatening.
