Scott Ferguson tallied twice to lead the Rebels Black to a 4-1 win over the Rebels White in an all-Red Deer Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League game Sunday at the Arena.

Spencer Scott and Scott Feser also scored for the winners, while Joel Topping picked up two assists. Kirk Johnson notched the lone goal for the Rebels White, who got a 39-save outing from Anthony Hamill. Matt Zentner made 26 saves for the Rebels Black.

The Rebels White, with Ian McLellan, Kale Lapointe and Garrett Engert each supplying a goal, tied the visiting Okotoks Oilers 3-3 Friday. Brady Jewan made 21 saves for Red Deer, which held a 52-24 edge in shots.

Chiefs grind past Steelers

LLOYDMINSTER — The Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs picked up three of a possible four points in Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League play against the Lloydminster Steelers during the weekend.

The Chiefs battled the Steelers to a 1-1 tie Saturday and pulled out a 2-1 victory Sunday.

Chelsea Peterson scored for Red Deer Saturday while Camille Trautman finished with 22 saves.

On Sunday, the Chiefs fell behind 1-0 early with Rebecca Glackin tying the score in the first period and Rachael Hoppins notching the winner in the second. Trautman finished with 26 saves.

The Chiefs ran their record to 13-7-4 and are second in the South Division, nine points back of the Calgary Flyers, 18-3-3.
