Amanda Beggs, 17, wipes a tear from Grade 12 classmate Gina Goranson’s eye after she gave blood for the first time in the Notre Dame High School gymnasium Wednesday. The school kicked off the seventh annual High School Challenge where the city’s three high schools vie for most donation bragging rights.

Clinics go tomorrow at École Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Hunting Hills High School May 15th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donors at the Canadian Blood Services offices located at Suite 5, 5020-68th St. can also designate their donations in support of a school. Please seerelated video at www.reddeeradvocate.com.
