Blue Bombers bring in Michael Bishop

Former Toronto Argos quarterback Michael Bishop is set to make his return to the Canadian Football League.

WINNIPEG — Former Toronto Argos quarterback Michael Bishop is set to make his return to the Canadian Football League.

According to Blue Bomber officials, Bishop will attend Winnipeg’s team practice today, leading to speculation Bishop could be the starting quarterback when the Bombers visit Toronto on Saturday.

Bishop, 33, has not played football since last season which he began with Toronto but finished up with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He threw 141 passes for seven TDs with the Roughriders and was released after the season.

The Bombers are looking for answers at the pivot position after last week’s 19-5 loss to the Argonauts, where Winnipeg quarterbacks combined for just 66 yards passing and two interceptions.
