A bomb threat forced a complete mid-afternoon shutdown of Edmonton’s light-rapid transit line.

The line and all stations were evacuated for about 45 minutes, but were up and running before the after-work rush began.

Officials couldn’t say how many people had to be evacuated or how many would normally be using the system at that time of day. Police were investigating, but were unable to immediately give details.
