Buddied up for their walk through the community, West Park Elementary School students Alex Ross, left, and Ryen McLeod lead their classmates on Thursday afternoon. As part of the school’s Literacy program, the students decorated envelopes and went door to door in West Park and Westlake delivering children’s books to each of the homes in the neighbourhoods. Literacy is a big focus for students at West Park Elementary, said school principal Jean Cobb, and giving and receiving books shows the importance and value of literacy.
