CALGARY — Both drivers have been charged in a collision that propelled a school bus carrying three dozen children into a tree in northwest Calgary.

None of the children was seriously hurt when the bus and a minivan tangled last Thursday.

Police say the bus hit the minivan and the impact flipped the smaller vehicle onto its roof in a residential driveway.

The bus careened off the road and struck a tree on the front lawn of the same house.

Police say the minivan’s driver, 33-year-old Katherine Gamble of Calgary, is charged with driving with a learner’s permit without proper supervision.

Thirty-eight-year-old Krista Donovan, also of Calgary, faces several charges, including driving carelessly.
