Boy injured when bullets hit truck, photo radar

LETHBRIDGE — Police in southern Alberta say a boy was slightly hurt when a bullet struck a truck he was riding in and lodged behind a speaker in the door.

LETHBRIDGE — Police in southern Alberta say a boy was slightly hurt when a bullet struck a truck he was riding in and lodged behind a speaker in the door.

Officers in Lethbridge say the 12-year-old wasn’t hit, but was injured on the side of the head by the impact.

Several other bullets hit a portable photo radar unit and caused about $100,000 in damage.

The 55-year-old operator was not hurt.

Police believe the shots were fired by a rifle and by someone in a vehicle.

An investigation is ongoing.
